Frequently Asked Questions for Counselling

“When I wanted to reach out for help, I wasn’t sure what to expect or where to begin – the whole process was quite daunting. ” – This is something one of my clients recently mentioned to me, and a common theme I have heard throughout my work.

To be honest what this person was describing above is spot on. It can be really daunting to reach out for help and engage in the therapy process and I appreciate how tough this can be. There are a lot of “unknown’s“ of how things work especially if counselling is a new experience.

With this blog post I hope to answer a few of these common questions, give you a n insight into the therapy process and hopefully in turn will help answer any questions you may have.

Before we get into it a quick disclaimer – I can’t speak on behalf of all counselling and therapy facilities and how they operate. What I can cover though is how Christchurch Therapy works and what you can expect if you engage in the therapy process. This would cover  both Counselling and Life coaching services.
